Precision Machining & Assembly
Cogitic’s extensive machining expertise and inventory of large format machines allow us to manufacture critical components such as main shaft seals. Specializing in the machining of HRSA (heat resistant super alloys) and assembly of complex systems, our manufacturing services are second to none.
Manufacturing capabilities include:
• On-machine probing and in-process dimensional validation
• Automatic tool setting (on-machine and off-machine via pre-setting)
• Complex assembly of small to medium size systems (mechanical, electrical and opto-mechanical)
• Characterization of in-service components and assemblies
• Repair, rebuild and validation of assemblies (seal rings, ball valves, strainers, valve components, etc.)
• 5 axis mill-turn (up to ø60” x 72”)
• Heavy turning (ø32” x 200”)
• Wire and sinker EDM
• Deep hole drilling
• Cylindrical, jig and surface grinding
• Lapping, honing and automated polishing
• Pallet systems allowing for unattended operation
Welding & Brazing
Cogitic performs welding and brazing to S9074-AR-GIB-010/278 and various commercial specifications. Welding processes include GTAW-M, GTAW-SA, torch and furnace brazing. Joint types include hardfacing, cladding, socket, groove and fillet.
Our welding program and procedures are approved by NAVSEA, BPMI, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics Electric Boat or Newport News Shipbuilding.
